Kindness. What does this word mean to you? Kindness, given or received, makes you feel warm and happy. And there are health benefits. Every time we do something kind our body produces oxytocin. It makes us feel good. Amazingly it actually softens your arteries. Your blood pressure drops! Kindness can come in any size. A smile, a kind word, opening a door. The list is endless. And kindness doesn't stop with the person who was kind. One small act of kindness grows and grows. Like ripples in the water created by a small pebble, kindness spreads in all directions. Kindness means being considerate, observant, being alert to opportunities. Kind acts need no reason. They are offered freely, without conditions or expectations. And yes, sometimes they do return to us unexpectedly. While kindness can be simple, it can also be profound. In this journal you will find a variety of quotations. They vary in length: Some are longer and some are just a few words. Yet each one contains seed for thought. When you read them, you may take them at face value. Perhaps some will linger in your mind and reveal greater insights later. You never know where your thoughts may take you. Wherever this journal takes you, hope that you enjoy using it. When you have finished, you will have created a wonderful collection of your thoughts, ideas, and inspirations generated by reading quotations from a variety of authors. You can re-read these any time you wish. You may find, as you re-read your entries, that you want to add more thoughts or expand upon what you've written. Reading and writing about the quotations may lead you in directions you may not have thought about as you started to write. Each entry contains two pages. The quotation at the beginning of each entry is intended to provide inspiration or material for thought about which you may write. Perhaps entirely different ideas will present themselves as you sit down to write in your journal. This is your journal: Use it any way you wish, and please enjoy using it.
