Rachel Vasquez is contemplating quitting her boring job doing surveillance when her new boss, private detective Clayton Guthrie, lands the perfect starter case to test his new 19-year-old operative. A beautiful Columbia student and Manhattan heiress has been murdered. The gun belonged to her fiancé Greg Olsen, an Afghan war veteran, and he's the one taking the rap. Guthrie is hired to get Olsen off, and fortunately he thinks Olsen smells clean of crime.
