Publisher's Synopsis

This is the second report on cave meteorology generated by the Cumberland Piedmont Network (CUPN). This report includes those data collected in calendar years (CY) 2009 - 2010, displays these results in graphic form and concludes with a summary of the key results and recommendations. The CUPN's cave meteorology efforts in CY2009 - 2010 were focused on Mammoth Cave National Park (MACA). The parameters monitored were limited to air temperature and relative humidity; no airflow data were collected even though a CUPN protocol for airflow data collection is available. Further, while CUPN's cave meteorology protocol (Woodman et al 2007) contains instructions for assessing spatial heterogeneity at each site through collection of data in a grid at that site, no such grid-based spatial sampling was conducted at any of the sites during the time period covered in this report.
