Publisher's Synopsis

A magazine book (mook) that features poets from different countries translating each other's work.

Originally Poetry East West ISSN 2159-2772

POETRY EAST WEST is interested in more than just the traditional notions of East and West. In Chinese there is always an interesting ambiguity about "EastWest" when both syllables are stressed, it means East West (oriental and occidental), but when only the first syllable is stressed it means "thing(s)". What kind of thing is poetry? We constantly ask the question to play with the multiple meanings of "EastWest" and to explore its full range of possibilities.

Volume 11 features translation between Chinese poets and poets from many countries, including Anne Vegter (Netherlands), Anneke Brassinga (Netherlands), Gregory Pardlo (US), Víctor Rodríguez Núñez (Cuba), Natalia Azarova (Russia), Najwan Darwish (Palestine), Jan Wagner (Germany), Alí Calderón (Mexico), Rati Saxena (India), Neil Aitken (Canada), Arvis Viguls (Latvia), Franca Mancinelli (Italy), etc.

Limited edition.
