This book is an anthology of responses to the ideas of the late Michel Foucault, a man of interdisciplinary interests who made important contributions in a number of intellectual fields. It concentrates on responses in the English-speaking world, but tries to reveal the full range of reactions, (enthusiastic, critical, hostile, even uncomprehending) and to assess Foucault's achievements and his place in intellectual history.
