Publisher's Synopsis

The village of Crabtree is due to be demolished. Plans for a new motorway mean that the old houses on the village green will have to go. Only Norman, the medieval farmhouse, is protected by his preservation order. Elizabeth, the sixteenth century manor, George, the Georgian old vicarage, and Victor and Victoria, the semi-detached twin villas, are not so lucky. Each house tells its own history as they fight for survival. Errol Le Cain's rich illustrations make these 'people houses' truly memorable.
