From the outside Moon Bay is as basic as a town gets, but if you're privy to the magic underlayers infused in the city, you see a different place entirely. Now that she's been forced to attend night school or face jail time for stealing corn nuts, her world has widened beyond belief.

Luckily, she's not the only misfit who missed their magic school invitation as a child, and the conglomeration of eight other students all slugging their own baggage through Pent's double doors is a mixture headed for disaster.
But when things go horribly wrong for her classmate, Vix tries to solve the mess herself instead of reporting it, and as usual, her potty mouth and thick-headedness push them all into deeper trouble.
