Publisher's Synopsis
Emily put the shopping bags down and saw the blood trail on the white carpet of the stairs, mixed with this was yellow slimy pus; she started to make her way up the stairs. As she reached the top she called out, "Larry honey are you okay," she saw the dog but it was too late, the dog leaped onto her and they both went crashing down the stairs. Larry heard his wife call out to him, he quickly opened the door and moved out into the hallway. He saw the dog jump at his wife, and then they both disappeared down the stairs, he heard the police siren outside they said they would be quick. He sat slumped on the bottom stair holding his wife's body, she had broken her neck in the fall and she was dead. The dog lay close by panting, its head wound open and the brain exposed, the police men came inside the house, one had a gun, the marksman didn't wait for any orders he saw the freaky dog on the floor and shot it dead.
== Kelly took her last breath and then her flat belly went still. Alison cried into her hands, her lover was dead on the bed. Why had a bite on the arm killed her it should not have happened, why had she got the high fever so quickly none of this made any sense at all. She remembered the good times they had the trip to Thorpe Park, Kelly had shit herself on some of those rides, the look on her face after the rides was a picture and Alison would never forget those times. Alison put the sheet over her head, now what to do, she went into the bathroom, and she needed to pee badly. She finished and wiped herself, she opened the bathroom door and stopped, the bed was empty, and where Kelly had been moments earlier was now just empty rumpled sheets. She moved slowly out of the bathroom. "Kelly", she said into the room. Kelly came from behind the bathroom door, she lunged at Alison...............
