The Bringer of Light, the one person who will have the power to either free the Dark Lord or seal his prison, is sought after by both the Sovereign Order of wizards and the Black Legion, for whoever controls him holds the destiny of the world. Roland der Causland lives with his father in the Marian Mountains, learning the carpentry trade until the fateful night he meets Maglin, the seeker. Maglin arrives just in time to prevent a Black Legion spy from taking the boy. The swift attack is unsuccessful and now Roland falls into the care of the Order. Completely unaware of the existence of magicians and magic, he now needs to be trained to use the power he doesn't even realize he possesses - the power of the Bringer of Light. The only question now: is there enough time. The Dark Lord's prison is steadily weakening and there is no way to know when he will be strong enough to break free.
