Gordie "Doc" Monroe has kept Steve McKenna at arm's length for years, except all her previous tactics aren't working any more. He calls to her inner coyote like no other, and even fearing what he makes her feel, she can't stay away. Except her burning need to be near him exposes her to the madman waging a war of terror against her pack.
Steve wants Doc in his bed more than he wants to breathe, but bruised and bloody isn't how he imagined it. With revenge riding his coyote and his bone-deep desire to make Doc his, Steve sets out to convince her she'll be safest by his side. When a second attack leaves Doc shaken, he's out of patience and with a little push, the passion between them explodes.
