In issuing this, the twenty-fourth volume of the Cornish Marriages, the Editors wish to draw attention to the first volume of the Index Series, prepared by Mr. Terry Satterford, which is now ready, and to appeal for support in order that this useful and essential supplementary work may be continued. Of the Index Volumes only one hundred copies are printed and these are issued at one guinea each; each volume will comprise a complete index to the combined contents of six or more volumes of Marriage Registers, that is to say, references to from to persons - each person being fully indexed under surname and Christian name. The first volume deals with the Marriages in the forty-five Parishes whose Registers were printed in Vols. I - VI of the Cornish Series, and consists of 197 pages of close double-columned type.
