Publisher's Synopsis

A double-bill of feature dramas. The crime drama, 'Conviction' (2010), is based on a real case that took place in 1980s Massachusetts. Hilary Swank stars as Betty Ann Waters, a working-class single mother whose small-time troublemaker brother, Kenny (Sam Rockwell), is falsely convicted of a violent murder in their home town near Boston and subsequently sent to prison for the crime, where in his frustration and anger he attempts suicide. With no one to turn to and no money to pay for her sibling's defence, Betty Ann decides to put herself through college and law school and qualify as a lawyer in an attempt to set her brother free. In 'Never Let Me Go' (2010) Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley and Andrew Garfield star respectively as Kathy, Ruth and Tommy, three childhood friends who reunite as adults to look back on their days at Hailsham, a seemingly idyllic but markedly offbeat boarding school in rural England. As the former classmates journey into their shared past, painful memories of love, jealousy and betrayal are brought to the surface and the sinister secret at the heart of their unusual upbringing is finally revealed.
