Hazel was Harry's sister-in-law even though he didn't remember her. Besides, as he would have explained if anyone had asked, you can never tell what a person will do when they get lonely. So Harry agreed to let Hazel come to live with him. He made lists of what they would do when she arrived: talk over old times, go to church on Sunday, Hot Lunch on Wednesday, take walks in the neighborhood. But Hazel had plans of her own and they were very different from Harry's.
