The special aim is to analyze the process of annihilation of some rural classes and the emergence and expansion of others. The book considers three phases of contemporary rural Iran. Phase one covers the content of the different modes of production articulated to each other prior to the land reform. Phase two contains the emergence of the new rural socio-economic structure. Phase three demonstrates the effect of the 1979 revolution on Iranian rural structure.
