Publisher's Synopsis
As the knife cuts, Shabwan is divided and is no longer one, but three. Vericoos the sorcerer forces these disorientated divisions through the three doors of the chamber. Beyond the doors lie the three dimensions that the tyrannical, megalomaniac God, Veo, has unwittingly created. If Shabwan's divisions cannot defeat him in these three hugely different but equally as terrifying places, then the God will emerge whole, and the work he started, oh so long ago, will be his to complete. The vast level of destruction he craves is unclear, even to those who trusted him. As Vericoos waits, hoping against hope that his mortal enemy will not find him in time, The Romantic must now face the Fool, The Fool must now face The Trickster and The Reluctant Hero must now face The Conqueror. Meanwhile, in the beautiful coastal city of Durpo, people are feeling the full force of the increasing magical flow. Revolution is in the air and, as is usually the case with revolution, those in power are none too happy about it. Three strangers are flung together by circumstance and must act fast, for if they do not, then the new magical abilities that the people of the city are so freely enjoying will destroy them all. An unjust public hanging takes the city to breaking point, and, while there is but one rope, suddenly all their lives hang in the balance. A terrifying predicament at the best of times, and this is before they must go to war. On the other side of the mountains, four friends are searching for one they have lost. They know not where they are going, only that their friend, Shabwan, is alive. As they follow his path, something tracks theirs, and soon the four friends are in unimaginable danger. For Shabwan has killed along his way, something his friends can scarcely believe is possible, and now a vengeful creature, the likes of which they could never have imagined, will not rest until it has tasted his blood. As the confrontations rage within the chamber, all eyes turn towards it. For any fool can see that it's about to break, and when it does, they will be ready.
