The city boasts no frills, and most people pass through the city without a second thought. What people don't see is the century-old war brewing in every corner. They do not know about the ancient secret that some residents have sworn their lives to protect. They do not know about the others that will do anything to take that secret, even if it means sending those protecting it to their grave. When Ky returns to Coverton to bury her estranged aunt, the town that she once called home begins to morph in front of her eyes. The tranquility and quiet have changed into cloaked figures looming among the trees, and heated glances between neighbors. Quickly she is tossed into a world of past lives, rituals, and her uncertain future.
