This is the ultimate Rock guitar manual. It assumes you have no prior knowledge of music or playing the Guitar, and will take you from beginner to professional level. In the course of the book you will learn all the essential techniques of Rock Guitar along with how to read traditional music notation, guitar TAB, and rhythm notation. By the end of the book you will be ready to play both Rhythm and Lead guitar in a Rock band and be able to write your own songs and guitar parts. The book is divided into sections, the first covering the basics of left and right hand technique, basic rhythms and chords, picking and music reading, along with how to use an amplifier and guitar effects. The later sections deal with using the whole fretboard, more advanced rhythms, scales and chords, and also techniques such as harmonics and right hand tapping. The examples and solos demonstrate a variety of Rock styles including Hard Rock, Southern Rock, Classic Blues Rock, Metal and Funk. The accompanying CDs contain all the examples in the book so you can play along with them. At the end of the book, there are also several Jam-Along tracks on the CD for you to practice your lead guitar playing with.
