"Commensurate" is the first published compilation of poetry by Sam Vandiver, an independent artist and author based out of Kentucky. Divided into four parts, the book explores themes such as loss, mental illness, and hope, shared in a brutally honest and tragically beautiful context. Pulling no punches, "Commensurate" is the author's attempt to aid in the pursuit of catharsis, both for himself and for the reader. Taking inspiration from the Confessional, Southern Gothic, and Psychedelic Horror genres, these poems seek to fundamentally express the personal growth of the author as a person and artist.
