Publisher's Synopsis

Suzanne Nelson grew up north of San Francisco. A Stanford grad and varsity runner, she heads to New York City for law school. She is gay but hasn't come out to anyone. At Columbia, she meets Kerry Neally, a New Yorker and fellow first-year student. Who is straight. Beginning with a study group, though, the two become increasingly close. And then it all blows up when Suzanne comes out to her friend.

This is the story of their relationship and that of Kerry's widowed mother, Eileen. Of Suzanne's parents, who disown her as they had Suzanne's gay Aunt Mary, who proves an anchor for Suzanne in New York.

Life is complicated, though, and eventually romances flow and huge changes take place among the characters, all the way to the first days of the coronavirus. This story is about how the members of what becomes a large New York family deal with themselves, with each other, and with love.

This book contains scenes of consensual sex. It is intended for readers who are at least 18 years old.
