Publisher's Synopsis

Color Friends is about art and color combining, but also about relationships and the magic of creation. In each part, a primary color starts all alone until another primary color appears. Together they embark on a journey, creating a complemetary color and a form. In Part I, Blue is alone and then Yellow appears on the page. They talk to each other and move around each other and notice a new friend Green has come between them. Green almost takes over, but Blue, Yellow and Green each find their place. They become the sky, the sun and the earth. In Part II, Yellow meets Red. They work together to create a special bird. This bird is vibrant orange, made from the blending of Yellow and Red, light and warmth. In time, the bird makes a nest and sets it afire. It becomes one with the fire, leaving only ashes and smoke. But out of the ashes a Pheonix is born. In Part III, Red and Blue meet. Warm Red and cool Blue swish past each other. Red pushes her way into Blue. They intertwine and swirl together like a hurricane. Out of this movement, a purple galaxy and stars are formed. Out of the galaxy, the planets evolve. The story culminates with all the colors coming together. One bright day raindrops fall through the sunlight, creating a beautiful rainbow. This artistic and magical book will delight young and old alike.
