Publisher's Synopsis
A basic, general illustrated guide to obstetrics and gynaecology for undergraduates and registrars. The atlas covers patient examination, foetal development, labour (in the obstetrics component) plus normal gynaecological anatomy, pathology of ovarian and uterine problems and common surgical procedures.;Although obstetrics and gynaecology are highly visual subjects, because of space pressure, the standard textbooks contain only a limited amount of illustrative material. The purpose of this atlas is to provide a visual supplement to the standard works, and the authors have aimed to provide clinical, anatomical-pathological diagnostic imaging and surgical photographs of all the main features of pregnancy and its disorders and of gynaecological disease.;In selecting material for inclusion in this atlas, the authors have concentrated on those examples which are visually memorable and which will assist the reader's powers of visual recognition in everyday clinical practice. It provides a broad overview of all the common conditions of pregnancy and gynaecological pathology, rather than focusing on specialized topics. Each illustration is accompanied by a concise, descriptive caption identifying key clinical features.
