Colonel Jack

Colonel Jack is a novel written by Daniel Defoe, published in 1722. The book follows the life of a young boy named Jack, who is abandoned by his mother and left to fend for himself on the streets of London. Jack quickly learns to survive by stealing and begging, but eventually he is caught and sent to a house of correction. After escaping from the house, Jack becomes a highwayman and eventually joins the army, where he rises through the ranks to become a colonel.
