For the most part the Catalogue is a dry and concise statement as to the nature or contents of each item or parcel of items. But here and there a few notes have seemed necessary, such as those explanatory of the Common and Fabric Rolls, or of the different classes of Visitations. In cataloguing the valuable Chapter Act Books, I have also added a summary of some of their more important and interesting contents, taken from notes that I have made at different times when consulting them.
