Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Coarse Fishing
Since the bulk of the volume was written, a good deal of discussion has arisen over the Protection of Animals Act, 1911, and its possible effect on the use of live-bait for pike and other fish. While it must be stated that in legal circles some doubt exists as to the interpretation of the paragraphs of the Act which seem to contain an element of danger, it is also to be re marked that, so far, there has been no prosecution of any angler under the Act, while in responsible quarters there seems to be no intention of endeavouring to apply it to a purpose for which it was not designed its pro moters had no intention Of interfering with anglers who fish in ordinary sportsman-like ways.
