Publisher's Synopsis

This text features the work of the Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis. Architect of Portmeirion, a village featured in the TV series "The Prisoner", he was a practising architect for 75 years and designed a wide range of buildings, including houses, schools, churches, gardens and gateways, countryhouses, furniture, lettering and monuments. Known for his public speeches on architectural and environmental issues, he was deeply concerned about the countryside and was one of the founder members of the Council for Protection of Rural England and Rural Wales. This collection of drawings and sketches presents a visual record of the Williams-Ellis's work.
