Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Clinical Diagnosis: A Handbook for Students and Practitioners of Medicine
Considerable delay has occurred in the issue of this edition, as the pressure on his time, from some other work, prevented the Editor. From undertaking, at an earlier period, that thorough revision of his Clinical Manual which a new edition of a book of this kind necessarily demands after the lapse of a few years. Every portion has been revised by the original contributors and by the Editor himself: such additions and alterations have been made as seemed desir; able. Large sections, here and there, have been entirely re-written, and the number of illustrations increased from 85 to 160. These changes have led to an increase in the Size of the book: although in a sense this is to be. Regretted, it could scarcely be avoided.
The plan of the book remains unchanged. It is designed to afford such assistance as students, actually working at Clinical Medicine, might seem to require. It is hoped that it may continue to be useful to them 'in their clinical work even after they have completed their course at the schools.
