Publisher's Synopsis

Since the end of the 19th century, scientists have detected a series of changes in the climate that cannot be attributed solely to natural dynamics, but which respond to anthropogenic alterations. These have catalysed changes, such as the increase in global average temperature, the loss of ice masses, alterations in precipitation regimes, and the greater incidence and intensity of socio-natural disasters, among others. In the face of this, new and complex threats are activated due to their transversality and uncertain nature. Given the characteristics of Chile, it is imperative to have Armed Forces and Law Enforcement in constant transformation, adaptation and preparation, which allow to maintain the response capabilities of the force, means and equipment. This work is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students, civilians or members of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement and Public Security, with an interest in Climate Change, socio-natural disasters, emergency response and humanitarian aid delivery.
