Publisher's Synopsis
In 1932 a group of ladies was instrumental in beginning a celebration which continues to the present day to honor and remember the pioneers who settled Clay County, a rural, agricultural county in Texas. But the photographs reveal much more than just a documentation of the early years of the Clay County Pioneer Reunion. They create a snapshot of rural, small-town life in Texas that has largely faded away over time much like many of these old photographs.
