Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Class and Chorus: A d104 Book for Chorus Classes, Singing Schools, Public Schools and Institutes
The staff must now be prepared to represent the key of G. This is done by placing in the signature place a device called a Sharp, (ii). The Sharp is placed upon the fifth line of the Treble and Tenor staff, and upon the fourth line of the Base sta?'. This Sharp causes each degree of the staff that has hitherto represented F, to represent F-sharp. The staves thus prepared represent the tones G, A, B, C, D, E, f-sharpl which make the key of G. The signature is one sharp, which is a sign that the key is G.
