These documents were signed by the founding members of a church, expressing their commitment to God, as well as to each other. Many early Baptists in America did the same.

Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Anniston, Alabama has continued in this practice.

Gathering as an independent congregation of believers since 1976, Sovereign Grace Baptist Church established a Church Covenant from its very beginning.
