Zum Jahr des Reformationsjubiläums 2017 wird vielfältig an die vier grundlegenden evangelischen Grundsätze angeknëpft: Christus allein - allein die Schrift - allein aus Gnaden - allein im Glauben. Fër Luther hatten die reformatorischen Grundeinsichten gerade im Galaterbrief ihre biblische Grundlage: "Der Brief an die Galater ist mein "Epistelchen", der ich mich vertraut habe, sie ist meine Käthe von Bora" (WA 1, Nr. 146 [1531]).Der Brief des Paulus an die Galater gehört zu den bedeutendsten Schriften des Neuen Testaments. Der Apostel schreibt an Gemeinden, die durch seine Verkëndigung des Evangeliums von Jesus Christus entstanden sind, die aber durch aktuelle Entwicklungen aus Sicht des Paulus Gefahr laufen, ihre Fundamente zu verlieren und von der -Wahrheit des Evangeliums" abzukommen. Die herzliche Verbundenheit, das Ringen um die verbindliche Wahrheit sowie die tiefe Sorge um das Wohl und Heil seiner Gemeinden bedingen die besondere Intensität und persönliche Leidenschaft des Galaterbriefs.Zugleich ist der Galaterbrief eine reiche Quelle fër zentrale Themen des Evangeliums. Die Bedeutung des Kommens Jesu Christi bis hin zu seiner Lebenshingabe am Kreuz, die Fragen des Ursprungs des Evangeliums, der Rechtfertigung des Menschen vor Gott, der begrenzten Funktion des Gesetzes sowie der Zusammenhang von Gottes Verheißung in der Schrift und seiner Erfëllung in Christus werden eingehend entfaltet. Wir erfahren von der einzigartigen Bedeutung der in Christus erwiesenen Gnade Gottes und des im Evangelium grëndenden Glaubens, von der ëberwältigenden Erfahrung der christlichen Freiheit und des neuen Lebens im Geiste Gottes.Schließlich ist der Galaterbrief auch eine der bedeutendsten Quellen fër unser historisches Wissen ëber das Leben und Wirken des Paulus sowie fër unser Verständnis von den frëhen christlichen Gemeinden. Denn im Galaterbrief haben wir es mit einem ganz frëhen Zeugnis von einem Augenzeugen und Vorkämpfer der Verbreitung des Evangeliums in der damaligen Welt zu tun.Eine so verständliche wie tiefgehende Auslegung, die in die Verkëndigung und das Denken des Apostels Paulus einfëhrt und zu einem erneuten Fragen nach der -Wahrheit des Evangeliums" und nach der -Freiheit der Kinder Gottes" einlädt.
