A beautifully executed wood-engraving with characteristically stippled cross-hatching from the artist, who studied under Leon Underwood, with, among others, Henry Moore and Blair Hughes-Stanton (whom she later married and divorced in 1933) - this Christmas card (the image illustrated on p.14 of The Wood Engravings of Gertrude Hermes, Scolar Press, 1993) from the year in which she exhibited at the Venice Biennale.
