Mr. George Saintsbury in his Nineteenth Century Literature, chapter VI, says: 'miss Rossetti has no superior among Englishwomen who have the gift of Iiterature'. Yet she is comparatively little known. Her melodious verse, which expresses the thoughts and feelings of an entirely pure mind, has but few readers.
