Publisher's Synopsis
Every good story starts with one question: What if?
What if there was a devastating pandemic? What if the human population was left with limited resources? How would the resources be distributed? Who would be responsible for choosing? And what would happen to those deemed unworthy?
Chosen is the story of Quin, a young girl born into a Children's House - a place where parents can choose perfectly healthy children to complete their families. But what if you were left unchosen? What if you were unchooseable?
In this new world order, those found to be damaged are purged from the Community and left to fend for themselves in the Outskirts, a lawless place where every day is a fight for survival. At the Children's House, when one of the children Quin cares for is threatened with the Purge, Quin is forced to choose between the only life she has known and one of struggle.
Chosen is a debut novel that weaves together the what-ifs and the realities of how our society measures value.
What if one story could make you rethink who we define as worthy? What if it could make you rethink what it means to choose and be chosen? What if it could make you rethink what it means to be human?
