She discovers a secret world that is comprised of born Vampyres, half-human half-Vampyre MielUzkas, and Dragars, soulless Vampyres with a thirst for blood and death. As Jazmyne learns all she can about this world before she makes her decision, something unthinkable happens. A small group of Dragars breech the palace walls. It's her first encounter with the Vampyres' and MielUzkas' sworn enemy, and it gives her a defining glimpse of what could become her world.
With the pending decision, unanswered questions about the Change, even more questions about where it will leave her, and the undefined romance between her and Aryn, Jazmyne does not know what she will do.
