Publisher's Synopsis
Aristotle: "Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence." In the Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle presents a theory of happiness that bears no argument till today, over 2,300 years later. Aristotle answers conclusively the fundamental question: What is the ultimate purpose of human existence? What is that end or goal for which we should direct all of our activities? Everywhere we see people seeking pleasure, wealth, and a good reputation. But while each of these has some value, none of them are the ultimate end. All these goals are pursued in order to attain happiness. To be an ultimate end, an act must be self-sufficient and final, "that which is always desirable in itself and never for the sake of something else", and it must be attainable by man. Aristotle claims that happiness is the end which meets all these requirements. It is easy enough to see that we desire money, pleasure, love, acceptance and honor only because we believe that these goods will make us happy. All other goods are a means towards obtaining happiness, while happiness is always an end in itself. This book is an exploration into how human beings operate, an analysis into our software and a step by step manual to the creation and installation of an Open Source, fully customizable Operating System based on our own free choice. An Operating System to determine how we feel, think, react and to instruct and control our entire body, everything in our being. A step by step, rational, practical and doable manual about how to become the architects of our own software, the programmers of ourselves! And to what end would we like to design each our own, personal custom made OS other than for the whole aim and end of human existence, being the only goal that is an end by itself, Happiness? And despite Happiness being the ultimate goal, by choosing to take control and responsibility about how we are, how we feel, think and react, we obtain a whole bunch of unexpected and extraordinary gifts: Turbocharging our abilities by a factor of half a million, an open heart and enlightenment, to name just a few. Impossible? Possible!
