Publisher's Synopsis
Five hundred years after the rise of the Great Henge, drought, starvation, and plague descend over the Salisbury Plain. On a cold winter's day, a dark hooded figure rides into the village of Wilton and promises to return the region to prosperity and abundance in return for religious rule over the Great Henge. The priestly figure, Nordumaal, soon shows his true colors, and there begins a reign of terror that strikes fear in the hearts of the people of Southwest England. Years later, Gwain of East Down is born as the final incarnation of a sacred Pleiadean bloodline, destined to vanquish the evil that now dominates the Salisbury Plain. When Gwain falls in love with Abbess of Wilton, the chieftain's daughter, who also becomes the object of Nordumaal's desire, the conflict between Gwain and the priest deepens. Darkness threatens to extinguish the last remaining spark of hope sent to liberate the people from Nordumaal's grip. Gwain of East Down must find a way to free his mind of his blinding hatred and slay his arch enemy once and for all.
