The idea of this book was conceived whilst looking for photographs taken at the Chet Baker Trio concert in Kiel. For all those who were not fortunate enough to hear this great jazz trumpet player and vocalist live on stage, they will be able to experience in retrospect through this book the fascination radiated by his personality. This book obviously cannot convey music or sound, however it provides photographs and text which one cannot get from a record or CD. Chet Baker's last concert took place at the 'Thelonious' in Rotterdam, a few days before his death on Friday 13 May 1998 in Amsterdam.
