Publisher's Synopsis
This overview of chemical reactors for gas-filled systems and for systems containing a third, suspended or emulsified phase, is based on the results of long-term research carried out by authors at the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals in Prague. No comprehensive treatment of reactors for such processes has been available until now, and this monograph is both useful and challenging, providing both a general description of the phenomena occuring in such reactors, as well as fundamental relations and procedures applicable for the selection of proper reactor type, and calculations of optimal parameters.;The book stresses the complex influence of factors which occur in a single phase, as well as including a general treatment of multiphase reacting systems and the description of multiphase flow of heat and mass transport in the system. It unifies its approach towards a descriptive effect of energy dissipation in both phases of the quality of gas-liquid dispersion.
