Publisher's Synopsis
This is a collection of fourteen tales of wacky, odd, and utterly ridiculous adventures while overseeing the opening and management, and performing inspections, of a chain of 200 mid-priced, single-story motels across the country. Included are stories of rascally raccoons, UFOs, dead family pets, drive-in porn movies, and Voodoo hexes among others. Each of the motels I oversaw had around one hundred and twenty five rooms. In total there were roughly 25,000 guest rooms, 199 swimming pools, and a whole lot of land in my charge. Our annual occupancy rate was a bit over 80% and the average number of guests was 1.72 per room each night. That equated to about 34,400 guests staying with us on any given night. And every one of them wanted extra towels. This book is a light and funny distraction from the everyday world. We have enough tribulations in our real lives right now. I hope you find it an enjoyable respite from the turmoil of reality.
