Publisher's Synopsis
Charles Rennie Mackintosh (18681928) may have been Scotlands finest architect and designer, in his own time and beyond. If his paintings have not received the wide attention given to his building and interior design, it may be because he turned to paintingespecially flower paintingless for public recognition than for personal satisfaction. That is not to say that he didnt take it seriously: although Mackintosh rarely exhibited his paintings, he long planned a revelatory London show.
