Publisher's Synopsis
A resource which focuses on children's lives and welfare. Topic units on home and family life, leisure and school show how aspects of childhood have changed in different parts of Britain since 1930. This resource provides photocopiable classroom activities which use photographs and oral history materials to bring a children's dimension into learning about the past. These are supported with teaching ideas, together with background notes which show how Save the Children has been working in the United Kingdom since its foundation in 1919 to try and improve welfare provisions for children and young people.
