Publisher's Synopsis
In 2015, more than one million people came to Europe as refugees. Germany got the largest share of them. The reason was that the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, opened the borders stating everyone was welcome. When the critics asked her why, she is quoted in the media as saying, "Wir schaffen das", which means "We can do this". Mrs. Merkel added, "It is a national duty" (DW, 04.09.2017). Many small German cities were unable to deal with this massive influx of refugees. Some people blamed Mrs. Merkel and considered it to be a mistake. It was truly a catastrophe and until today, Germany has suffered from this disaster. Said Mansoor was a wealthy TV-presenter of a political show in Iraq.
