Publisher's Synopsis
This student guide focuses on violence as a global affliction and sustainable human development as a global antidote. Faculty will use the accompanying curriculum module to develop and teach this important content, which meets the CSWE accreditation standards for effective education programs that recognise the interdependence of nations. Using these materials, students will gain a broad understanding of violence and of social work's role in solving the problems on a global scale. The curriculum module was developed with the assistance of six NASW chapter-based Violence & Development Project Centers and a CSWE International Commission Curriculum Working Group. The Violence & Development Project is a collaboration of the National Association of Social Workers, the Council on Social Work Education, the Benton Foundation, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
