Publisher's Synopsis

Double-bill of films written by Ricky Gervais. 'Cemetery Junction' (2010) is a nostalgic coming-of-age comedy set in 1970s Reading. Three 20-something friends work together at the local building society and spend their free time larking about, drinking, fighting and chasing girls. While smooth-talking ladies' man Bruce (Tom Hughes) and lovable loser Snork (Jack Doolan) are satisfied with their lives, Freddie (Christian Cooke) harbours dreams of escaping his working-class background. When he gets a new job as a door-to-door salesman and is reunited with his childhood sweetheart, Julie (Felicity Jones), Freddie is forced to make important choices about his future. In 'The Invention of Lying' (2009) Gervais stars as Mark, a performer who tells the first lie in a world where people only tell the truth and dishonesty has never before existed. Once he realises what he can achieve by lying, there is no stopping him. He uses his new found ability to advance his career and charm the girl of his dreams, Jennifer (Jennifer Garner) - who is completely out of his league - to much comic effect.
