(Boosey & Hawkes Scores/Books). This work was composed in 2013 to a commission by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association. It was first performed that year at WaltDisney Concert Hall, Los Angeles, by Anssi Karttunen (cello) and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen. The piece is formed in a single span lasting 20 minutes.
