Resolved, That our fellow-citizens Of the states Of Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky, and especially the descendants Of those who took part in the battle, are cordially invited to be present; and that a committee on the part of the state, consisting Of fifteen, be appointed to solicit the co-opera tion Of the people Of these states in the proposed celebration.

Resolved, That the president Of the United States and his cabi net, lieutenant-general Scott, and the governors Of Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky be specially invited to attend.

Resolved, That the Hon. John S. Preston, Of this state, and Hon. George E. Badger, Of North Carolina, be appointed orators Of the day.
