When Rose Trevelyan sees a small girl wandering alone on the shore. she is relieved to see the child picked up and taken to the safety of the car park, That relief is short-lived when Rose learns that a young girl fitting her description is reported missing... Beth Jones is four years old; her father hasn't seen her since she was a baby, but Rose had watched Beth hold up her arms to be carried by the man on the beach - she seemed to know and trust her abductor.
