Publisher's Synopsis

'This is WAY better than Harry Potter!' My first real review from a 10 year old neighbor.: ) Cat's Curious Capers is a much more wholesome book than Harry Potter. Author, Lauri Matisse, spent her formative years in Nebraska. Her first novel reflects those years spent in Nebraska.
In 'The Music From the Water, ' the first in the Cat's Curious Capers Series, Cat, an endlessly curious 11 year old inventor moves into a "creep-a-zoid" old opera house in Elsewhere, Maine; along with her annoying little brother, Bat, "Brat" and her cool older brother, Matt. As she explores the old place, Cat hears a mystical tune which causes her to follow a mysterious boy into a secret backstage room where he disappears. Cat pulls a musty old book off the shelf called 'The Music from the Water.' It is about a boy named Jesse who lived in 1888. Cat flips through the book to see how the book ends. The last half of the book is blank! At that moment, an old typewriter, antique with an attitude, types out, "Who are you?" This starts Cat's curious journey to the 'Middle of Nowhere' which definitely gives her an edge in 'Elsewhere, ' thankfully just before the school year starts!
Inspirational Author Lauri Matisse is a modern day renaissance woman-author, illustrator, artist, architect, musician and mother of four. Inspired by The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, combined with Nancy Drew mystery and Narnia's "Worlds Beyond," I have crafted Cat's Curious Capers to be as candid as it is uncanny. I hope to encourage young readers to be curious, courageous and creative caper solvers!" Lauri is the author of two other Children's Books, Awg Dawg, 'Pet Adoption Day' and 'April in Paris. She is also the author of three Christian based Inspirational Books for Adults.
