Publisher's Synopsis
1970's made-for-TV drama in which a papal emissary is sent to Ireland to try and quell the unrest caused by a group of priests who aren't following the Vatican's line. Set at an unspecified point in the future where the Catholic hierarchy has liberalised elements of its doctrine and practice, Father Kinsella (Martin Sheen) is summoned to a meeting at the Vatican and informed of goings-on in Ireland. A group of renegade priests, led by their Abbot (Trevor Howard), appear to be ignoring guidance from the church hierarchy and rejoicing in traditional ceremony and belief. Will the arrival of Father Kinsella re-establish order?
